What to expect?
This program is for young players learning to skate and new to the game of hockey. Youngsters benefit from getting the “right start” in the game and building skills. Focus for U5s revolves around introducing basic motor skills, fostering a love for the game, and promoting a positive early experience with hockey. The emphasis is on fun activities that develop fundamental movement and coordination skills, setting a foundation for future hockey development. Play will be "Cross Ice" as per Hockey Canada Mandated Guidelines. Preschool will use the lightweight "Blue" pucks. For more information, see our governing body OMHA's website.

What Equipment do players Need?
OMHA provides a great resource for hockey equipment as a starting point.

How often do U5's play and what is the schedule?
U5 will play at home ice (Haldimand Memorial Arena). We play twice a week for 50 minutes. For Current schedule, go to our schedule webpage.
